About Cloudbank

Cloudbank Books was launched in 2000 with the publication of Millennial Spring: Eight New Oregon Poets, an anthology of contemporary verse, edited by Peter Sears and Michael Malan. Since then, we have published nine other books of poetry, including those shown on our Home Page.

In 2009, the first issue of Cloudbank magazine was published. Each issue is 84 pages, perfect-bound with color art on the cover. Two or three book reviews are included in each issue, along with 65 pages of poetry and short prose. We offer a prize of $200 for one poem or flash fiction in each issue. Contest entries should include a check for $15, which pays for the current and next issue of Cloudbank. See Contest link for submission guidelines.

The winner of the Cloudbank 1 contest was “Heaven in the Bad Borough” by Sara Lier of Califon, New Jersey. The winner of the Cloudbank 2 contest was "Everything You Needed to Know You Learned at the High School Dance" by Amy Miller. Cloudbank 3's winning poem was "Emptiness" by Steve Dieffenbacher. Most recently, "Cinderella, later" by Francine Witte, won the prize for Cloudbank 4. Links to all winning poems can be found on the Home Page.
